He partnered with his college friend Samir Palnitkar and launched his first business, Obongo, in his living room in 1999. Obongo was a pioneer in the online identity management space and was later acquired by America Online in 2021.

Following his tenure at AOL, Jai founded Mojo Networks, the most secure cloud Wi-Fi technology firm in the world. Once again, he had to immerse himself in learning from scratch because he had no prior experience with Wi-Fi technologies. Mojo quickly established itself as the market leader and was eventually acquired by Arista Networks.

TrueLoyal, his current business, is revolutionizing the traditional loyalty rewards paradigm and is, once again, a foray into a new industry vertical. Jai credits his ability to adapt and learn to his rigorous academic background. He earned his B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIT Kanpur and an M.S. in Computer Science from Iowa State University.

On being asked what inspired him to become an entrepreneur, Jai responded, “My inspiration to become an entrepreneur stemmed from a deep-rooted fascination with innovation and a desire to create impactful solutions. I was not satisfied by simply learning ‘how ‘to build something. I wanted to go one step beyond and think about ‘what' to build. How can we use technology to address real-world problems.”
